DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEYI thought that this might be a helpful book as I have two sons in scouting. I thought it might be somewhat instructional and fun for the boys. I couldn't have been more wrong. This book is a joke. There is a badge described as the duck tape badge and there is a little information of duct tape. Then there are a couple of "requirements" such as "Have the boys make something out of duck tape" . No suggestions on what they could make or instructions. (which I thought was going to be in the book). There is even about ten or so pages of "logs for people completing the badges. What a waste of my time and money. The best thing I think this book could be used for is as kindling to start a campfire!

Yes it can be seen as a good source for some neat ideas, but more pointedly, Greg's book is lots of fun.
This is a great little book that provides some fantastic activities for your next outing. While not "official" the activities in Campfire badges make for fun and exciting ways for your Scouts to interact, get creative, and have fun.
I love the Cricket Scale..There is almost nothing better then crickets on a summer night at camp... Will be sharing that with my PLC in the very near future.
I highly recommend Greg Cieply's Super Secret Undercover Campfire Badges.. small enough to keep in your leader tool kit and easy enough for any PLC to use to enhance your Troops program!

I really am not the target reader for this book, so I've loaned it to our Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner and he's pretty impressed with it. It's a good resource for keeping the Scouts busy/occupied/having fun while camping.
Fun around the campfire.
Lots of good ideas to keep Scouts interested. Will be very fun to try these alternative "unofficial" merit badges.. Greg Cieply is my favorite author in the NWSC.

This book touches upon some of the best ways to engage our scouts in activities that they are already discussing. We have joked many times about adult merit badges, but never considered putting it into a book. Brilliant book.
